The Crown

The Crown - bringing 21st century inn-keeping to the heart of Woodbridge, East Suffolk's foodie gateway to Aldeburgh and Southwold. Chef-patron Stephen David welcomes you to the new look Crown which opened in late July 2009 after a dramatic facelift. Now a cosmopolitan bolthole inside its 17th century townhouse façade with a lavish bar, 2AA Rosette winning restaurant and ten relaxing bedrooms, this boutique inn was distinctively created by Chelsea based designer, David Bentheim.

An icon of the town's atmospheric blend of the fashionable and age-old, The Crown may have stood for more than 400 years on the Thoroughfare crossroads, but its latest reincarnation combines city chic, stylish interiors and modern comforts with the centuries of architecture and period charm.

Preconcert bar snacks and two course dinners can be booked for each concert date with booking essential.

Hill House Hall

Hill House Hall is an ancient building, parts of which date from the 1380s. It is located close to St Mary's Parish Church. Hill House Hall conceals one of the oldest houses in the district, dating back to the second half of the 14th Century. The timber framed house follows the typical layout of the middle ages.

You can see the original well worn steps to the front door that lead straight into the medieval Wealden Hall which dates back to the 1380’s. You can stay in the south wing of the Hall with your own private bathroom.
